A paid Halloween sponsorship came across the Saints Label inbox this month. It was the kind of opportunity most brands would probably say yes to without thinking twice.
October is one of the biggest months of the year for Halloween campaigns. Stores are filled with skeletons, witches, fake graves, horror movies, costumes, and decorations. Every brand wants attention. Every brand wants to be part of the conversation.
And Saints Label could have taken the money.
Instead, we said no.
Not because we think every person who takes their kids trick-or-treating is doing something evil. Not because we believe a child in a Spider-Man costume is automatically far from God. And not because we want to use fear to tell other Christians what they should or should not do on October 31.
We said no because we did not want to build a Bible-study brand by attaching God’s Word to the same fear, darkness, and controversy everybody else is using to get clicks.
There are enough people online telling Christians to be afraid. We do not want to sell Christians more fear this Halloween.
There are enough videos telling you that everything is demonic. Enough people telling you that if you celebrate Halloween, you are compromised. Enough people telling you that if you do not celebrate it, you are judgmental.
And meanwhile, a lot of Christians are caught in the middle.
They do not know what to believe. They hear one person say it is just candy and costumes. Then they hear somebody else say their neighborhood is full of spiritual danger. They hear a Bible verse in a TikTok clip. They hear a scary story from somebody who claims to know something nobody else knows.
And they are left wondering: What does the Bible actually say?
That Is The Question We Care About
Not because we think a Bible Study Guide can make every decision for you. Not because we think it can settle every conversation Christians disagree about. But because we believe you should not have to build your faith around the loudest person online.
You should be able to open God’s Word and understand it for yourself.
That is why we turned down the sponsorship. We do not want to sell Christians more fear this Halloween. We want to help them get deeper in the light.
Because whether you stay home on Halloween or take your kids door-to-door, the bigger question is not what you do on one night in October. The bigger question is whether you are growing in your understanding of God’s Word.
START WITH CONTEXT
“Then the verse becomes more than something you repeat. It becomes something you understand.”
Knowing A Verse And Understanding It Are Not Always The Same Thing
Do you know why Paul wrote Ephesians? Do you know what Christians in Ephesus were surrounded by when Paul told them, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light”?
Do you know why Paul told Timothy that God had not given believers a spirit of fear? Do you know who James was writing to when he told people who lacked wisdom to ask God?
A lot of us know those verses. We heard them at church. We saw them on social media. We saved them to our phones. We repeat them when we are scared, overwhelmed, or unsure what to do.
But knowing a verse and understanding what God was saying are not always the same thing.
That is the gap Saints Label was created to help with. The Saints Label Bible Study Guide is not another devotional that gives you somebody else’s thoughts for the day. It is not a giant seminary course. It is not a complicated reading plan that makes you feel behind before you even begin.
It is one clear page for every book of the Bible. All 66 books. Who wrote it. When it was written. Why it was written. What was happening in the world at the time. The major themes to notice before you start reading.
So when you open Ephesians, you are not just grabbing “walk as children of light” because it sounds good in October. You can understand Paul’s message to believers living in Ephesus. You can understand why he told them to put away their old way of life, speak truth, avoid giving the devil an opportunity, and stand firm.
Then the verse becomes more than something you repeat. It becomes something you understand.
Start With The Foundation You Were Missing
You stop opening Scripture, feeling confused, and closing it again. You stop spending the first twenty minutes searching online for who wrote the book, who they were writing to, and what was happening. You stop feeling like everybody else at church understands the Bible better than you do.
You start with the context. Then you read God’s Word with the foundation you were missing.

That is why this October, Saints Label is running a Faith Over Fear Sale. Not because we want to make Halloween into another sales gimmick. But because we believe this is a good time to step away from the noise, stop obsessing over darkness, and spend real time getting to know God through His Word.
You do not need to be scared into studying the Bible. You do not need another person online telling you what to think. You need a simple way to understand what you are reading.
Keep one beside your Bible. Give one to someone who has told you they want to get closer to God but do not know where to begin.
Because this October, do not just spend time talking about darkness. Get deeper in the light.
